Andrew Robson Bridge Holidays are unique. It is important to stress that they are not aimed at the type of player who likes a serious 24-board Duplicate every night; instead the emphasis is on instruction, with a little gentle competition, played in the friendly, social manner that so typefies the ethos of Andrew’s Club.
Each year we run two ski/bridge holidays, a European midweek break, a summer holiday, several UK midweek breaks and five weekends at The Millstream Hotel in Bosham.
No Partner is needed on any ARB holiday and anyone is welcome to come on our holidays (you do not need to be a member of Andrew’s club), although we can’t cater for complete beginners. The bridge standard is wide ranging friendly Intermediate!
Please contact Jack Stocken on 07775 892 720 or email him at email@example.com with any questions you may have about any of our holidays
Meet The Team
Andrew Robson is widely regarded as one of the finest Bridge player/teacher/writers in the world today. When not at The Andrew Robson Bridge Club, Andrew travels the country, inspiring thousands at the many Charity functions and Master Classes he leads.
He writes a daily bridge column in The Times, has a weekly column in Country Life and Money Week and has written many acclaimed bridge books.
Andrew does not come on bridge holidays but provides the teaching material which includes his excellent set hands, commentaries and bridge diagrams. Click here to visit The Andrew Robson Bridge Club.
Jack Stocken has established himself as one of the country’s foremost bridge teachers; renowned for his patience, clarification of teaching and most important of all, making bridge a fun game to learn.
Jack started teaching bridge in 1999 at The Andrew Robson Bridge Club where he worked as the club’s manager for seven years. He returned to his native Yorkshire in 2006 where he started “Yorkshire Bridge” and now has regular classes in Harrogate and Helmsley. He writes a weekly bridge column in the Yorkshire Post. Jack and Annabel have been running Andrew Robson Bridge Holidays for many years and they now take over 400 people on bridge holidays each year.
Annabel’s expertise, from working as conference organiser for an international software company, is finding new hotels and locations as well as negotiating contracts with hotels. She also puts together the very successful excursions that we offer on our midweek breaks and summer holidays.
Annabel learnt to play bridge at ARBC although she has been too busy to play recently, whilst bringing up two young children.
Lorna Heaton Lorna’s vibrant personality always lightens up the mood, whether it be at the Club, where she is integral in organising the courses and giving her pearls of wisdom at the table, or alongside Jack on our bridge holidays. Along with Caroline, Lorna was originally a Club member before Andrew recognised that her talents were perfectly suited to working in the Club. Lorna has been with ARBH since 2006 and is an experienced bridge supervisor and player. A keen skier, she is often to be seen at the bar on ski holidays sharing amusing stories and anecdotes with our guests.

Dinah has recently joined Jack in co-hosting several of our Millstream Hotel bridge weekends. A popular bridge supervisor, Dinah will always go the extra mile in explaining the “Rule of 14” or “The Losing Trick Count” to our guests. Dinah often co–hosts the European midweek break.
In her retirement Dinah has hosted several bridge classes for Jack in Yorkshire and is an accomplished bridge teacher in her own right.
A legendary figure. Peter was Chairman of the English Bridge Union for many years and has held a lifelong passion for bridge. He taught all of his four children to play bridge as children and encouraged them to play duplicate bridge in their teenage years. He will always be on hand to help out on our midweek breaks, as long as a glass of red wine is not too far away.
Peter is a jigsaw-puzzle maker from Yorkshire, specialising in wooden three Dimensional puzzles – Click here to find out more.
Our most recent member of the holidays team, Paddy joins us for the summer bridge holiday and on the odd Millstream weekend. He hosts a very popular Chicago session on Friday nights at ARBC and also Wednesday morning and evening. Paddy’s former job was a teacher at Ludgrove School.
He has an easy-going manner and charm that ensures a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. Paddy has been working at Andrew’s club for seven years – what a fabulous and popular member of their team – and what a brilliant memory for names!
