We are extremely excited to be offering a very special summer holiday to the luxurious 5* Belmond Reid’s Palace, Madeira.
The 5* Belmond Reid’s Palace has a wonderful location overlooking Funchal Bay and the Atlantic Ocean and is set in beautiful sub-tropical gardens.
The hotel has several excellent restaurants overlooking the Atlantic. There are three outdoor swimming pools; two are seawater, one of which is heated, and the other is heated with freshwater – all overlook the ocean. It is also possible to wander down to the sea level platform and jump straight into the ocean. There is a Spa, tennis courts onsite and two 18-hole courses on the island, both of which provide championship standard golf and are remarkable for their scenic beauty.
Madeira is often referred to as the “Pearl of the Atlantic” offering spectacular scenery in the form of dramatic sea cliffs, blue waters, UNESCO World Heritage protected forests and an intriguing primordial rawness as the result of ancient volcanic activity.
Madeira has received the award for best island destination in the world at the 2015 World Travel Awards. The average temperature for September is 23°C and the sea is lovely and warm due to the Gulf current.
We will organise two (optional) excursions; the first will be a city tour of old town Funchal including the Botanical Gardens and for the second, possibly a boat trip around the island, dolphin, turtle and whale watching.
There will be an informative Bridge programme led by Jack who will teach Andrew’s lessons and supervise the set hands. The package price does not include flights and transfers as group BA flights are not available until October.
