We will be staying in the highly rated 4* Kossak Hotel which is a boutique style hotel offering elegant accommodation and fine cuisine. The hotel is centrally located next to the Vistula River and just a short stroll from the stunning main square in the Old Town. The hotel has a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence. The entire medieval Old Town has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Cited as one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, its extensive cultural heritage across the epochs of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture includes the Wawel Cathedral and the Royal Castle on the banks of the Vistula river, the St. Mary’s Basilica and the largest medieval market square in Europe, the Rynek Główny. Situated on the Vistula River in the Lesser Poland region, the city dates back to the 7th century. Kraków has traditionally been one of the leading centres of Polish academic, cultural, and artistic life and is one of Poland’s most important economic hubs. There will be an optional half day excursion to discover the delights of this beautiful and historic city. The excursion will most likely be to Wawel Castle, Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum or the World Heritage Wieliczka Salt Mine, where Chapels have incredibly been carved entirely from salt! Flights from Heathrow to Krakow with British Airways or from Gatwick (and other airports) with EasyJet or Jet2.com for those travelling from the North. You will need to book your own flights and transfers although if enough people are on the same flight we will provide coach transfers.
