We will stay at the luxurious 5* Hotel Annabelle, Under the soulful care of the Michaelides family since 1985, Annabelle shines as the grand dame of 5-star hotels in Paphos. Annabelle epitomises the warmth of Cyprus, the beauty of its nature, and its hands-on culture of care and conscientiousness.
Nestled among six acres of tropical gardens just a short stroll from Paphos harbour, centrally located Annabelle is perfect for exploring or a relaxing week by the pool. Need sand between your toes? A 10-minute walk takes you to Antasia Beach Club, our sister venue located on arguably the best beach in Paphos. The promenade and port is within an easy stroll, while Paphos airport (PFO) is just 20 minutes’ away by car.
The hotel has a complex of swimming pools, indoor pool, tennis court, sauna and gym. There is a wellness centre and spa which offers a variety of facial, beauty and body treatments, yoga, massages and therapies. As ever, we will organise two interesting and cultural excursions:
Excursion 1- Cruise from Limassol Old Port
From the port, you will step aboard a catamaran boat for a four-hour coastal cruise along the beautiful shores of Limassol. This leisurely journey is all about enjoying the gentle sea breeze, calm waters, and panoramic views, perfect for unwinding. Depending on the day’s wind conditions, the cruise will either glide along the Limassol city skyline or head towards the clear waters of Lady’s Mile and Akrotiri. Both routes offer lovely scenery and excellent swimming opportunities.
A delicious buffet lunch of Mediterranean cuisine will be served onboard accompanied by an open bar with local drinks. Upon return to Limassol there will be some free time to enjoy a gentle stroll around the harbour and castle area. Guests can either relax with a coffee at a local café while soaking up the charm of the old town or browse the boutique shops and souvenir stores before setting off for the hotel in Paphos.
Excursion 2 – Discovering the Charm of Omodos Village
We’ll set off towards Omodos Village, a charming gem nestled next to the stunning Troodos Mountain range. As we drive for about an hour, enjoy the scenic countryside, dotted with picturesque vineyards and traditional villages that reflect the heart of Cyprus.
We visit a local bakery in the village and under the guidance of a local baker, guests will enjoy a Pastry Demonstration showcasing the famous Arkatena bread, a beloved Cypriot specialty. Then discover the secrets of making “shoushoukos,” a traditional sweet made from grape must and nuts. Visit the Monastery of Stavros or ‘Holy Cross’ where the serene atmosphere and ancient architecture offer a glimpse into the spiritual heritage of the region and then wine tasting. Following lunch at a local tavern and time permitting; guests can wander the village’s charming streets at leisure, filled with shops offering handmade lace, artisanal crafts, and local delights.
There will be an informative and fun Bridge programme led by Jack Stocken who will teach Andrew Robson’s lessons on four mornings, gentle Duplicate before dinner and relaxed supervised play after dinner. Bridge standard is friendly improver/intermediate – our holidays are not suitable for those who are used to a competitive 24 board club duplicate.
Paddy Buckley and Helena Gaynor will co-host the first week, Suzi McArthur and Grazyna Wrobel the second week. Book your own flights with British Airways from Heathrow and we will organise a coach transfer to/from the hotel for a small fee. Most other airlines fly to Cyprus.
